After Operation Royalty, another ship was built that bore the name Ypres. This Starship was commissioned and stationed at Sanctuary along with the new Ypres after the Operation Bughouse. It is a large ship, like the Tours.
- The ship's name may be a references to Ypres, a Belgian municipality and the centre of intense and sustained battles between the German and the Allied forces during World War I.
- During the invasion of Klendathu in the 1997 film Starship Troopers, though the names are not mentioned, there is a collision between two ships, which is a reference to the destruction of the Valley Forge and the Ypres in the novel.
