Similar to Drop pods, Orbital Drop Suits are built around Power Armor that allowing a Trooper to enter atmosphere.
Film Universe[]
Orbital Drop Suits were deployed for use with Marauder Suits. They were installed onboard Fleet ships and when a Marauder trooper entered they equiped it they would be dropped out of the ship into a planet's atmosphere.
One of these suits was used during the Battle of Hesperus when Trooper Spooky used one to an immediate planetary insertion. These suits were not shown to be the normal way of landing planet side with Marauder Troopers being assigned a dropship for non emergency landings.
