Colonel Offer Hohlback was a field officer in the 701st Mobile Infantry. He was the commanding officer stationed at the outpost Hotel Delta 1-8-5 during the First Bug War. He led troops during the Battle of Zulu Alpha.
History[]
Colonel Hohlback was described by his second-in-command Captain V.J. Dax as having been a poor commanding officer as several of his orders led to excessive casualties in their unit (explaining why Dax wore the dog tags of all the troopers lost during their time at the outpost). According to Dax, the Colonel was well-armed during the time of his death by Captain Dax as he claimed only to have killed him with just his bare hands. Despite the Colonel's alleged lack of command skills, the other troopers in the unit remained loyal to him and arrested and imprisoned Captain Dax within the outpost's furnace before abandoning their station eight days before the arrival of Bravo Six. The evacuation was apparently an instantaneous procedure as large amounts of equipment and supplies were left behind, including many of the Colonel's documents and personal belongings.
