Military Intelligence, also known as Intel or Games & Theory, is an elite top-secret special operations branch and Military Intelligence of the United Citizens Federation. Intel is charged with gathering information on hostiles, such as the Bugs, and providing it to other units in order to sort it through and to better understand the enemy.
Intel has its own group of psychics called Psi Ops as a core and leadership branch and often utilizes them to collect data. Intel also calculates casualties and survival rates. However, Intel is rarely correct, such as at the Battle of Klendathu where Intel believed that the plasma fired at the ships was "only random and light"; a fact that was proven wrong when many shots of plasma tore through the hulls of Fleet's ships. Intel values information more than human life and has an uneasy relationship with other branches. Intel often conducts high-priority top-secret missions of which commanders in other branches are unaware such as the development of the bio-engineered X-Bug as part of an offensive against the Arachnids on the planet Hesperus.

Notes[]
- Intel's color is black and its uniforms bear a resemblance to SS uniforms.
- Although it's never been officially confirmed, since there is a Fleet Intelligence division there is most likely also a Mobile Infantry Intelligence division. Considering that there have been Military Intelligence Officers that use Mobile Infantry ranks and others that use Fleet ranks, it would make sense that Intel Officers would belong to one division or the other.
- There are two psychic divisions. The first one is referred to as "Psi Ops" as seen in the Starship Troopers 2005 video game and is the main psychic operations and warfare division of Military Intelligence, and the second one is referred to as "Psi Corps" as seen in Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation and is a joint subdivision of both Mobile Infantry & Military Intelligence that consists of psychic Intel officers assigned to Mobile Infantry units.
- While some members of Military Intelligence are selected to be recruited into it right away (like Carl Jenkins), it appears that it's also possible for members of Mobile Infantry and Fleet to be able to join Military Intelligence later in their career. Evidence for this can be found in Starship Troopers 3: Marauder, where it's mentioned that Enolo Phid was in Fleet before joining Military Intelligence (where she eventually became the division chief of Fleet Intelligence). It's also possible that Dix Hauser was in the Mobile Infantry before joining Military Intelligence as well since it's mentioned that he previously worked under Johnny Rico at Terran Command.
- Carl Jenkins is referred to by the title of Minister of Paranormal Warfare in Starship Troopers: Invasion. Although it is widely assumed, there is no actual division called the Ministry of Paranormal Warfare. Carl's title denotes his position within Military Intelligence being the leader of all psychic warfare (and therefore would fall under the Psi Ops division), his title is not indicative of an entirely new division.
