Powered armor jump jets

The use of jump jets was limited in its use during the First Bug War during the Second Battle of Klendathu as only one unit of special forces equipped with large powered armor suits known to have used them. These power armored suits had two jump jets attached to their backs. After this battle, there is no know use of jump jets for the rest of the war with the later Marauder suit equipped Troopers lacking this feature to their armor during the Battle of Hesperous.

M11s using jump jets

Early in the Second Bug War, the M11 Babar entered service. This large armored bipedal vehicle had limited jump jet capabilities allowing them to both limit their drop rate, as well as jump up whilst dropping plasma bombs. This was demonstrated during the Battle of OM-1 where M11s allowed a horde of Warrior Bugs to swarm them before jumping to drop their plasma bombs directly onto them.

Some Troopers of the Deep Space Vanguard were equiped with back mounted Jump Jets. This Jump Jet was also used on the Power Suit. This was attached on a large backpack to the power suit armor and consisted of one large jump jet with four small jets around it. These were extremely effective in letting Mobile Infantry to move large distances fast as well as rapidly slow descent onto planet surfaces.

Using jump jets, troopers can fly over limited area and reach elevations of up to 200 feet. Jump jets use fuel and can only carry a trooper for 1,000 feet before needing to be recharged.
