The Federal Network, or more commonly FedNet, is the primary computer and telecommunications network in the Federation.
Before and during the Bug War, FedNet had four menus: Federal (news directly from the Federation Government), Galaxy (events occurring across Federation Space), Top News (breaking stories), and Enlist (recruitment messages).[1] By the Second Bug War, the format had changed to a more interactive medium and employed usage of opinion polls (which only citizens are allowed to use).[2]
FedNet also handles personal communications, known as Federal Services Communiques. This is run by AT&T.
Additionally FedNet appears to run the social media platform FedBook. There's also an equivalent of FedNet for the colonists on Mars called MarsNet.[3]
