A "capsule" is an insertion capsule used by the Mobile Infantry's cap troopers in order to descend directly on planets or any other body by a shot from a drop ship.

Notes

• The alternative names for the "capsule" include landing capsule, pod capsule (ポッドカプセル Poddo Capuseru), and drop pod (降下ポッド Kōka poddo).
• In the 1988 OVA Starship Troopers and the 2012 film Starship Troopers: Invasion, the capsule has only one layer. The capsule is designed to crumble once the soldier use a switch that causes it to open and so is free to continue his mission.
  • In the early concept art, the Invasion version of capsule was originally going to have three layers.
• In the 1997 film Starship Troopers, the idea of the capsule is replaced with the DR-4 Viking dropship.
• In the 1999 television series Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles and in the 2005 FPS game Starship Troopers, the idea of the capsules is replaced with the Orbital Drop Suit.
