Morita Naming Discrepancy
Just to clear up some confusion, the Moritas seen in Invasion and Traitor of Mars should be considered the Mk. IV series. For some bizarre reason the mobile game Starship Troopers: Invasion - Mobile Infantry had the Morita from Invasion listed as Mk. I, and the SAW variant listed as Mk. III. Given that we've already had Moritas Mk. I, II, & III from the first three films; I think it's safe to say that the mobile game got it wrong and should not be considered accurate. Therefore I think we can agree that the Moritas from Invasion and Traitor of Mars are indeed the Mk. IV series even if there hasn't been any official confirmation, and I've updated the articles to reflect that. Unfortunately the most recent games Terran Command and Exterminat…

Gantaku Warrior Bug Statue is Finally Here...For a Price
The 1/6 scale Warrior Bug statue by Gantaku is finally available for pre-order, for the insane price of $3500. See Big Bad Toy Store if you've got that kind of money to spend on this collectible, or just want to see more pictures of it!
Personally, I don't find it all that impressive, and I can't imagine that many people will be in a big hurry to drop that kind of money on it.
Presumably this is what came of the 1/6 scale "action figure" that was originally announced as being in the works at the 2017 San Diego Comic Con panel. Running the official Gantaku page through Google Translate seems to indicate that this is a limited run of 99 pieces.
Given how long it has taken this to come to market, and the fact that nothing has ever materialized r…
Ed Neumeier Claims There Have Been Talks For Starship Troopers TV Show
Website HN Entertainment reports that during an interview with Ed Neumeier, the screenwriter revealed that there have been talks about a possible Starship Troopers television show:
- HN: Going back to Starship Troopers, the idea of a reboot, in this day and age where studios are now kind of going for soft-reboots, basically sequels to movies 30 years later, do you think that bringing back the old cast (Casper and them) could work as a sequel, should they go that route?
- Ed Neumeier: ”Well, I think they can. I don’t want to jinx anything, but we are talking about trying to do a television show that is based on that idea.”
This is very little to go on, and there's no indication what Neumeier is talking about. While people might be quick to assume, o…
Happy 50th to Dina Meyer!
Dina Meyer, aka Dizzy Flores from Starship Troopers and Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars, celebrates her 50th birthday today! Professionally, she remains as busy as ever, and has aged very gracefully!
Check out her page on IMDb to see what she's been up to, or for a more personal touch follow her on Twitter or Instagram.
Happy Birthday, Diz!
Warrior of the Snake.
I'm a warrior. I got ninjitsu, bikenjutsu, skateboarding and even some command scores. One day I'll get a snake tattooed on me. But only after I am fully muscular. I've dedicated a good few years on wiki researching snakes and so to focus on my battle-ship I understand I am the Monsignifer Lancehead Viper.
1/6 Scale Warrior Bug Still on the Way!
Gantaku posted a video to their Facebook page on August 23 showing off the massive 1/6 scale Warrior Bug statue, adding "PO coming soon." I'm assuming in this context "PO" means pre-order. Good news, as I was wondering if the project had been scrapped due to a lack of updates.
The bad news is the statue is sure to come at an extremely high cost, which will price most Starship Troopers fans out of owning it. If nothing else, it'll be interesting to see what the final price is.

How Successful Was Traitor of Mars?
While checking up on the official Starship Troopers webpages and social media accounts to see if there was anything new posted to them, I noticed the official Japanese webpage seems to have been taken down. I thought that was interesting, given that the film was only released on Blu-Ray and DVD there a few months ago. It got me wondering how successful the film was.
The Numbers currently estimates Blu-Ray and DVD sales in the United States to account for $656,691. Given that it was released to cinemas only as a one-night special event, I suspect it's unlikely that the film generated much revenue there. The only country that The Numbers reports on for the cinematic release is Australia, with a grand total of $1,566 from a total of 6 cinemas.…

New ST Inspired VR Game in Development
B3: Blood, Bugs, and Bullets is a virtual reality game that's currently in development for a 2019 release. The game is clearly inspired by the Starship Troopers film series.
The game looks like it's fairly low budget, but it's still cool to see how influential ST continues to be, over 20 years later.
To learn more, and see a trailer for the game, check out my post on the game at my Starship Troopers Blog.
Traitor of Mars launches on Blu-Ray/DVD in Japan
Starship Troopers: Red Planet (that's Traitor of Mars to everyone else) has launched on Blu-Ray and DVD in Japan, as of the 25th of May.
Along with the standard Blu-Ray and DVD releases, there is a special edition Blu-Ray. The special edition includes a 32 page booklet with an interview with Shinji Aramaki, and some storyboards or concept art for the film. A disc of extras appears to include video of a set visit during filming.
Since I don't read or speak Japanese, I'm having to rely on Google Translate, so all this may not be very accurate.
What is certain is that the film does includes both the Japanese and English dubs.
I've just ordered a copy from Amazon Japan, and will post pictures and thoughts on the release when I get it.
Starship Troopers is coming to Earth Defense Force 5
Earth Defense Force 5 will be getting some kind of Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars related DLC in the near future. Specific details haven't been released yet, but Siliconera seems to think it will involve the EDF forces going to Mars to assist Johnny Rico.
If you're not familiar with the Earth Defense Force series, it's a series of low budget (by comparison to big studio games, anyway) games where you fight invading alien forces. I've always thought it was pretty clear Starship Troopers was one of its influences, so this is a good fit.
For more, check out the above link to Siliconera. I'll be sure to update with a blog post here when more news comes out.
1/6 Scale Warrior Bug
As I mentioned in an earlier post, at the 2017 San Diego Comic Con Starship Troopers panel it was mentioned that two 1/6 scale figures were in development. A 1/6 scale Warrior Bug has emerged, from a company called Gantaku. I found it while looking at the Twitter account for the Japanese release of Traitor of Mars. The thing is huge, and will likely cost a fortune, but man is it cool! I really hope they do a 1/6 scale Rico to go along with it (which was the plan from what they'd said at the SDCC panel).
Here's some links to Gantaku, if you want to check it out for yourself:

Traitor of Mars Opens in Japan Feb 10, 2018
Traitor of Mars is hitting Japanese cinemas February 10, 2018. Why there was such a delay, I'm not sure, but it seems like the film has recevied much more of a promotional push in the Japanese market than it did in the West. They've got a very nice website up for the movie and very active social media accounts. Check out the website here: http://sst-mars.jp/ If you're like me and don't read Japanese, you can use a translation browser plug-in to get an idea of what's going on.
I haven't seen any information about how the film performed in its special event screening in the US, or how it's sold on DVD/Blu-Ray. A strong showing in Japan would be nice, and I'd hope it would drive more Starship Troopers content in the near future, so here's hopin…
SDCC Panel Was Great!
For anyone who's interested, here's a quick rundown of what went on at the Starship Troopers panel at San Diego Comic-Con.
I'd say it was a success, with solid attendance for an evening panel at the busiest day of the convention. The mid-sized room was nearly full, and most of these people were real fans, given how responsive they were to the panel members.
The panel was moderated by Stephen Kramer Glickman. Panel members were Ed Neumeier (writer), Casper Van Dien (voice of Rico), Shinji Aramaki (director), Joseph Chou (producer), and Tony Ishizuka (Sony Pictures). Masaru Matsumoto (co-director), was supposed to participate in the panel, but arrived late.
As far as concrete, new announcements go, we were told a pair of 1/6 scale figures are b…
Second ST: Traitor of Mars Trailer Drops
A second trailer for Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars has been posted online. It's now the default trailer at the official website (www.starshiptroopers.com). The updated trailer, and new background image on the site (reposted here), gives us a better look at Dizzy, and introduces the rest of the squad, including One-Oh-One, the character that Deray Davis is voicing.
Rico's other squademates appear to go by the names Geo, Baba, Dutch, and Camacho, given the names on their suits.
The film will have a panel on the evening of Saturday the 22nd of July at San Diego Comic-Con, so we should have some more details about the movie after that. Looking forward to it!
New Starship Troopers Animated Movie This Summer!
Starship Troopers is back from the dead! There is a new CGI animated film coming out this summer. Here's a write-up from Anime News Network, with a trailer: Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars
It's being produced by a company called Lucent Pictures Entertainment, along with Sola Digital Arts, the same people that did Starship Troopers: Invasion. It is written by Ed Neumeier, and has Casper Van Dien and Dina Meyer reprising their original roles as Rico and Flores from the '97 live action movie. Given the look of Rico and the equipment in the trailer, it would seem that this is a sequel to Invasion.
The movie will have a one-night only cinematic release on August 21, through Fathom Events.
You can see the trailer in more info (just the basics ri…
Bugs
I have a lot of screenshots from the Arachnid Empire army book from the Roleplaying game, which has the only real deep information on the Bugs, including how they colonise other planets, reproduce, adapt, etc etc. It also has info on lots of different Bug types.
I'd like to put them up on here, but the editor doesn't work very well on my phone. It would be awesome if I could get some assistance, as the info on the Bugs on this wiki is in need of some expansion and Depth. Thanks.
Dizzy and Carl from the movie
Were Dizzy and Carl anything more than friends? The reason I ask is because Carl seemed like he liked Dizzy when he was dancing with her.
Future of ST
It's been a while! I never got around to that comics section, but I see the community did a great job adding one!
So it's been a few years since the release of Invasion, and nothing new for Starship Troopers. I'm guessing that means the movie wasn't a commercial success. I liked the movie, and would have enjoyed seeing more live-action films in that series, or some sequels to Invasion.
The idea of a reboot is better than nothing, but I kind of liked the whole B-Movie sensibility that the ST live-action movies had. A reboot would probably end up being yet another sanitized production, all dark and serious. I've seen enough of that lately. That's just me, though. What would you guys like to see? Have you given up and moved on, or are you still …
About the Starship trooper: Invasion is there gonna be a II ??
about that, i kinda bit in the story of Starship trooper :Invansion because Carl is not done yet to his research right ???? and i don't care if they succeded to kill that queen bug but i know there lots of bugs that Carl created , and why trig and shock jock die there i though its gonna be romantic when trig been cought by bug but i thought she gonna be ok but she die >_ < Why director why is that because "is good day to die you know what want is the reason why citizen what we fight right" (music) XDD sorry about that its touch my heart when trig and shock jock favor each other T.T and one more things is there gonna be a II of the starship trooper :invasion II ????
Dominant Species - Canon or Non-Canon?
So its been stated to me that Dominant Species is non-canon recently. Anyone know of any source confirming this? Currently this wiki has DS's info attached to the Second Battle of Klendathu page as it appears to be where it fits IF canon.
Also should all other comics and games based solely on the film universe (so not counting miniatures game) be considered Canon within it?
VARGR (talk) 18:31, April 9, 2013 (UTC)
Klendathu battle in comic Dominant Species
So I have been reading the Dominant Species comic, and in it there is a battle being faught on Klendathu and I'm wondering if I should add it to the Second Battle of Klendathu page as it is clearly not the first battle due to lasting by the time of the comic three years, and that it has Neodog Corps and the first deployment of Power Armor used. The fleet seen over the planet consists of Corvette Transports not Athena Class starships that launched the initial attack. However, there is Corvette Transport in it called Rodger Young. None of the crew from the film appear in it however, and it is clearly number 175 not 176 which was the ship ID of the one in the film.
Should I add this info to Second Battle of Klendathu and label the Rodger Young …
What to name Invasion's beam weapons?
Right so I've been intending for a while to create a page for the "beam weapons" seen on the Starships, however I'm still at a lost as to what I should name them since other than seeing them onscreen no further info is available. Should I call them "Beam weapons", "Pulse weapons" (similar to the SST2 games except larger and sustained beams). I'm not going to call them lasers as lasers don't work like that and in real life are actually very weak and inferior to bullets etc. VARGR (talk) 15:23, April 3, 2013 (UTC)

Why STi must ignore the sequels
Think it. The sequels likes me, but there are many facts that don't like me:
Starship Troopers 2:
- Pulse weapons: Yeah, the e-p weapons that are like lights turning on and off. Replaced the armor of lead, emblems of the saga.
- Bad officers, those who send their soldiers to die.
Note: the incomplete uniforms are because there were no to much money.
Starship Troopers 3:
- 11 years and they are still using the old BDUs.
- The big weapons.
- Religious propaganda.
- The 2 new bugs didn't like me too much.
- Federation Marine Corps, because the Mobile Infantry is Army and Marines, like in the novel. (These guys and girls are badass, but I gave you my rason).
STi:
- 10 years after the first movie (ignores), and then, quite a few years after the third film. That isn't good…
No rifle for Powered Armors?
I read again the book and I found:
The next eighteen hours were nightmare. I shan’t tell much about it because I don’t remember much, just snatches, stop-motion scenes of horror. I have never liked spiders, poisonous or otherwise; a common house spider in my bed can give me the creeps. Tarantulas are simply unthinkable, and I can’t eat lobster, crab, or anything of that sort. When I got my first sight of a Bug, my mind jumped right out of my skull and started to yammer. It was seconds later that I realized that I had killed it and could stop shooting. I suppose it was a worker; I doubt if I was in any shape to tackle a warrior and win.
......
But that wasn’t all that went wrong. Just name it, it was fouled up. I didn’t know what was going on, …

Creating Comics Section
I'm beginning to work on a category for Starship Troopers comic books. It'll take a while to complete, since I don't currently have all the comics, but I'll be beginning with the stuff that Dark Horse Comics published.
I'm thinking that one page to each series makes sense. So the page layout would be something like what follows here, more or less what is already done, just focused to have all the relevant info for the series on one page, rather than branching out.
I. General Information
II. Characters
III. Vehicles, Weapons, & Locations
IV. Plot Summary
V. External Links
VI. Gallery
Keeping it simple makes more sense to me than creating individual character/ship/weapon, etc. pages, since most of the elements in the comic books are either ones we…
nonunderstandable thing
I have seen the Enlistment Contracts of Johnny and Carmen used in 1997, and I can´t undertand they because they have things that have nothing to do one with another thing. Don't match. Is maybe an U.S. Navy enlistment. Single-with-Spirits could say something about this because she is an ex-sailor.
Guys, here they are: Johnny Carmen
Film Threat's Messy Starship Troopers: Invasion Review
I was searching the web trying to find some kind of sales figures on Invasion, and while I haven't been able to find anything so far, I did stumble upon Film Threat's review of the movie. It would seem that it got published without much fact checking or proof-reading. The standout flaw here is that the reviewer claims that Neil Patrick Harris voiced Carl Jenkins:
"Meanwhile, Dr. Carl Jenkins (Neil Patrick Harris reprising his role from the original film, in voice only) has absconded on a secret mission with Carmen Ibanez’s (Denise Richards’s character from the original film) spaceship."
Ibanez is mentioned twice more in the review, but both times is called "Carmine."
Next, it's implied that Casper VanDien's likness is used for Rico:
"...soldie…
Starship Troopers: Invasion Major Henry Varro action figure
Here's some photos of an upcoming action figure of "Hero" from SST:Invasion, produced by Play Arts Kai. Supposed to be available March 2013. Doesn't look like the helmet comes off, but a cool figure none the less.
General Universe category
Should we use this new category for articles in general like drop, drop pod, Buenos Aires, Argentina, orbital drop suit, etc? I count with your support.
Multiple pages, same things
While I do understand that the novel and film/TV/OVA/games are often at odds, I have noticed that sometimes the multiple pages are actually counterproductive, especially when these are things that both have in common.
Take as an example the Earth articles; do we really need Earth (film) and Earth (Novel)? Why not make a single Earth (planet) article and point out any discrepancies between versions in sub-sections? That way we can consolidate knowledge in a single easy-to-use resource without worrying about missing some important bit of knowledge that is mentioned only in the Earth (obscure magazine short story) article.
Another example; the Queen Bug; really, do we need to have three articles for what is essentially the same type of creature? …
Book, Film or TV Series?
There has been much debate on the matter of the differences between formats in Starship Troopers, sometimes very hostile. I'd like to just get it off my chest that each is good in its own way and there is no need to get uppity about it.

My Little Starship Troopers - Episode 1: Fall From Valor
Rodger Young, Corvette-class transport- 04:01:25PM
Private Grant Dimitri Victor Sherman, one of the Federal Marines, was one of the soldiers to hold the rank and insignia of Private. He was seen guarding the Rodger Young.
But when arriving at Planet P, bug plasma begins damaging the Rodger Young, resulting the marines to move out. "Hurry up, Private Sherman! We're going to escape the Geronimo!" Yelled Private Vladimir Aleksander Makarov, one of Sherman's friends. "I am trying to, Makarov!" Replied Sherman.
However, when he was heading towards on of the Fleet Dropships, debris fell into them, cutting Sherman and his team off. Sherman, who was about to escape, noticed a dr…

Political Science Fiction?
Many people forget that political science is as suitable as other sciences for representation in science fiction; Starship Troopers is an excellent example, but it is not the only one; who has not read Fahrenheit 451?
Why I'm not around much atm.
Hey guys. If anyone is wondering why I haven't been that active it is because I'm currently in my final semester of University and have a lot of work to do currently until the start of June. I will still be around, but just not editing that much until I'm finished. Glad to see a lot of activity on this wiki lately. VARGR 01:24, April 20, 2012 (UTC)

Cleanup!
Okay we need some major cleanup here! so here is what we are going to do! If there is an administrator here listen carefully because I have done this a few times on other wikis getting them in shape (prey wiki, thundercats wiki, and barsoom wiki)
We have to start with creating disambiguation pages for the content, each disambiguation page will be a basic article based on the information from the book, with the disambiguation information beneath this content!
Original information leading into derivative information!
Second categories need to be cleanly defined, all things must be categorized appropriately for their native canons!
each should be as follows
